New Assignments

I received an e-mail from my editor Katy yesterday with four new stories she'd like me to work on. Here's a look at them.

1. "Tax Implications For Your Small Business" is a free program to be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Elkton Central Library next Wednesday, Feb. 3. It is a program that will help owners of small businesses learn tax-saving strategies. Someone from H&R Block will be leading the program.

2. Rich Sparling, the Chaplain of the Philadelphia Phillies, will be speaking at the "Annual Joy of Faith Weekend" at Elkton United Methodist Church the weekend of Feb. 6.

3. "Tuesday Lunchlines" is a program that is held at the Elkton Arts Center every Tuesday at lunchtime. People just show up and bring poetry or writing they want to share, and they work on it during a brown-bag lunch (12-1 p.m.).

4. Local Student Wins Second Prize In National Poetry Contest

Some of the deadlines are this weekend. I'll be sure to update with how the articles have turned out.
